Golden Milk

I am in love with this elixir!  I've been drinking Golden Milk (Turmeric Tea) every evening, especially during Fall and Winter, and can't wait to share. It's easy to make and it tastes better than I expected. Drinking golden milk can reduce inflammation, support brain health, improve digestion of fats and sugars, help prevent blood sugar crashes, improve sleep and boost the immune system. 

  • 2 cups unsweetened coconut milk

  • 1 tablespoon peeled, grated fresh ginger (or 1/4 teaspoon of ginger powder)

  • 1 tablespoon peeled, grated fresh turmeric (or 1/4 teaspoon of powdered ginger)

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 3-4 black peppercorns (or a dash of black pepper)

  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil

Simmer for 10 minutes on medium-low heat in a sauce pan. Strain if needed and sweeten to taste with honey or stevia, if desired. Don't forget a sprinkle of cinnamon on top! This can be made in larger quantities and refrigerated for up to 5 days.

Fruit Compote

1 whole pineapple
4-5 apples
4-5 pears
2 cinnamon sticks pinch of salt

Peel all fruit. Cut into bite-size chunks. Cook over medium heat until the consistency you desire. Some people like chunky, some like it more like apple sauce. Just the smell of the compote cooking will make your family salivate!
